Answer #1 is correct, their is no sales tax on the sale of real property. You will however have to pay property taxes. These are 1% most of the time, sometimes they are more if the property is in a special assesment district.

you will pay California sales tax (there "aint no way CA is going to bypass that up!!). They "receives you" once you bypass to sign in the motorized vehicle in CA, you will pay sales tax on the acquisition fee on the on the spot merely as in case you had bought the automobile in a CA dealership. truly, you will pay the speed of the county the position you stay.

there is no sales tax when you buy a home, but when you sell a home there is a maximum amount of profit you are allowed to make before you pay taxes ... example ... bought a house 10 years ago for $1,000,000 and sell it for $2,500,000 ... I'm going to have to pay taxes on the $1,500,000 ... there is a minimum threshold, but I don't know what it is ...

no sales tax on homes and real estate in california. in fact I have never heard of a state that puts a sales tax on real estate.
there are other taxes usually involved in real estate, but not sales tax.
