For example, he stated that we broke 3 dishwashers while living here for 2 years. But that is false information. When we first moved in the house, the dishwasher didn't work. We told the landlord about it and he sent us the repairman he knows(I don't believe he is "real" professional). The repairman took another dishwasher from downstairs out and installed it (Since we are only renting upstairs). But that one didn't work either. So the landlord bought a new dishwasher but it didn't work either. My husband who grew up leaning repairs of appliances decided to troubleshoot and found out that it wasn't dishwasher that has a problem but there was not enough water pressure. Then he fixed the problem and we haven't had any problem for nearly 2 years.
This is just one example but how can we prove this ? If the landlord keeps sending this false information to every landlord, we would keep getting rejected and never find a place to live. We only have 1 month to move out of the current house. My husband says he will sue our landlord. But is there chance for him to win? He also wrote a letter for the landlord of the townhouse we applied for to explain what really happened. I hope this will work. Please give me some advice.
