my apartment complex is asking me to sign a new lease due to typos. i signed the lease almost a year ago. i was once told that a number of typos in a lease would cause it to be void if brought into court. anyone know what that number is? because im afraid that my complex is trying to pull something on me.

NONE. You heard wrong, typos do NOT make a lease void at all in most states. No judge will typically let a tenant out of a lease over a typo. Judges are pretty good at understanding what was intended & they will uphold the lease.

Just pull out the old lease and make sure nothing changed (other than the fixed typos). Otherwise, I would look into it more.

Typos are not going to get you out of a lease. It wouldn't matter how many there were

you could never in simple terms void a employ. It does not artwork that way. whilst there's a situation with a rented domicile you're able to sue the owner to legally wreck the employ without penalty. This demands legal information they be attentive to with regards to the subject & have accomplished not something to purpose to repair it. For well-being & secure practices subject concerns you additionally can call the community housing authority. they are going to do an inspection & rigidity the owner to make mandatory maintenance.
