Question:
I rented a Europcar in a Aeroport for my holidays and it said I need to show a Credit Card, is it necessary?

I've placed the order with my Debit Card (Visa Debit)
I don't have a Credit Card and only after I placed the order I notice that it said "You need a valid Credit Card.." when taking the car.
If yes, what the solutions?

It may depend on the vendor.

I have rented in some countries where this restriction was plain to see, but my MasterCard logo'ed ATM card was accepted, anyway. I notice that new cards have big, gigantic print that says DEBIT CARD on it; this may be a problem for some.

If you are not traveling alone, your partner's credit card may need to be presented at the time you show up to collect your rental. That's what happened to my neighbor when she rented from Budget in the Dominican Republic.

I am looking at the Europcar site, and see that you can use debit cards in these situations:

<

- "Maestro" cards issued by UK banks and for customers renting in the UK, and

- "Visa Electron" card(s) that are accepted for online payment on some rental destinations.

See section V. for other forms of acceptable payment (but it looks like it may be country-specific): http://www.europcar.com/EBE/module/render/Online-Booking-Terms-popup

Most companies want a credit card few will accept a debit card. This is security in case you mess up their car.

You will not be able to take the car when you arrive, without a valid credit card.

You had better get one before you leave.

Most debit cards can be run as credit cards.

if you don't have a credit card and that is a condition of the car rental, you don't rent a car, simple as that

You can't. Someone has to have a credit line to secure the car.
