So, in March I m moving to another city. And I m moving in with two friends who live there already and they move in February but I need to fill out an application, and they want my current employers information. But I can t tell them I m moving till it s time for my 2 weeks notice. I don t want the rental people calling them and asking about it and then I get fired and can t afford to move anyway. What should I do?

Do you have an employer in the new city? (or are you moving without having a job in place?)

They're likely to want your employer in the new location, as that's the paycheck that'll be paying your rent

Call the rental office. They likely do NOT want your current employer's info. They want to see your job offer in the new city. They need to know that you will have enough income to afford the rent.

Your landlord want to know how you plan to pay the monthly rent. In order to prove you are able pay the monthly rent you would need to prove you have a current job.

You have no plan in this move. You have no potential job in place. You hope you would be able to be hired once you are in your new city.

You and your friends should make an attempt to find employment prior to your move.

You and your friends might consider going on line to seek employment. There are many web sites where you might apply for many jobs, prior to you moving.

Once you have found several of these sites you would be required to complete some basic information, followed by down loading your resume.

Once you have completed these steps, you would be able to browse for the jobs each site would offer. Once and if you find a position you are interested in you are able to apply for this position and send your application and resume to the employer you are interested in.

In some instances, you are able to set up an interview using one of the many visual communication sights currently available.

I hope this has been of some benefit to you, good luck.

You inform the rental that your employer doesn't as yet know you are leaving and you do not need them to tell them anything

They wouldn't be saying WHERE they're located, they only verify with the office staff that you have a current job and are working there full or part time. That's all they ask.
