Can I rent an apartment in a new city without having a job in the new city yet?

My husband and I are relocating to Albuquerque, New Mexico in a few months. Right now we both are employed and are renting a house in Washington. Will apartment managers let us rent without jobs in Albuquerque? I would appreciate any help!

Are you both moving there without any job offer? If so, they would probably rent to you with a larger security deposit. The best thing to do is call around and ask their requirements. If they hesitate, then tell them you could pay for the first 6 months upfront.
