we rented an apartment together but as fate has it we are not able to co-exist in the same dwelling. infact we hate each other now. my question is this:
I have paid my share of the rent this month and I dont want to leave, its my apartment too you know. she has called the police and they instructed menot to return to the apartment. Are they able to legally deny my access to something i have every right to use and have paid for in advance. your comments are greatly appriciated.

She has filed a charge against you. This is serious. get a lawyer, stay with a friend, Talk with the landlord.

The police are now in control.. SORRY>>>> as a landlord for 20 years, I would not touch this at all. This is domestic dispute. and if you go back she can yell RAPE, and your goose is cooked.

Stay away from the woman, be a man and move on.

YOU WILL GO TO JAIL if you return, but you can ask the police to go with you to collect your belongs. Else file theft charges against her.

After your update, It is clear that she is lying, and the kind of witch that will not hesitate to call abuse. Figure yourself luck to be without her... Warn your friends. Go to Philippines and get a loving and caring woman LOL.. become a mail order husband... It still works

Someone here said you can go back in, There is a rule and law. You cannot disobey a police officer. If you go back you will go to jail.... The bit++(I call her that because of the lies) in the unit has you by the short hair, and you have no choice. Learn from it. You may have done something to tick her off. but she has no right as a person to kick you out of your house. even if rented.

But then she has her side LOL

did you speak to the officer in charge and explain the situation.

if there is no domestic violence going on and no cause for you not to be there except that she doesn't want you there they shouldn't have told you not to return

are you in a 1 bed or 2?

do you want to live together still or do you want to move out?

most places will let you leave but you have to sign a waiver to forefit your share of the security deposit

speak to your rental office in the morning and call the officer that called you back. if you don't the officers name call the non emergency # for your police to be put in touch with that officer

NO, if no violence and your name is on lease, you can't be required to leave, but it might be the best thing to do. Contact the landlord. Get the police to go with you to the apartment to get your clothes and stuff.

Sorry, but life isn't always fair, and sometimes it's best to cut your losses and move on.

Try your best to handle it like an adult. If the lease is in BOTH of your names, my advice to you is to talk to your landlord or leasin office and see if there is another unit available. See to it that she is approved (financially) to change the lease into her name, and move out. Things can get really ugly if you were to try to fight it out with her. As much as it may pain you to "give in", I would do it. I would not move out until the lease is out of your name fully. Hope this helps!

The landlord doesn't care, you still owe 100% of the rent, even if you don't live there.

THIS IS WHY YOU DON"T PLAY HOUSE>
